Trundel's unique style has you reading into the night. I had to buy eye drops because my eyes were so tired but I had to keep reading. His impeccable knowledge on the subject matter shows in a truly tightly woven story.Trundel also highlights some silly US state laws that restrict police from taking the proper course of action.Micke Mickelson, the main character reports to someone very high up in the US government. He's brought in as a fixer of the highest caliber. And he's on his own if he's caught. Soft Target has a fantastic intricate plot with memorable characters. Mike isn't looking for love but just trying to do his job in the only way he know how but he finds it in a most unexpected place. This was a pausable story and I only hope this situation never comes about. Are we looking at reality in the future? Only time will tell? This well deserves the five stars I'm giving it.

Soft Target A Cybertech Thriller eBook John D Trudel Reviews
John Trudel's book Soft Target is well worth the read.
Trudel takes several of the circumstances of the political and security state-of-affairs you see today, shifts us into the very near future, and runs with a plausible story of an attack against the U.S..
The main action begins to unfold right here in Oregon, where the political correctness of the country is compounded by Oregon's own silly laws and attitudes. That adds a local interest. You will recognize the place.
Trudel has done a nice job of folding together the self-destructive reality in the interaction between US and State laws, intelligence agencies, political interests and traitors in the political class, the military, private enterprise, and sub-sets of the population.
He shows you how things might turn out and does this in a way you will believe is not a bit unlikely, because there is nothing at all in this fiction that is far fetched. While you read, you will recognize something in every aspect of the story that mirrors your own observations of the world and people you actually know.
Trudel is well versed in the nature, methods and jargon of every single character he places into the pages, and he knows how the world and the country operate. Obviously, Trudel did NOT just fall off a turnip truck and decide to scratch out stories with plots that are beyond his experience and education.
Looking for a Christmas gift idea for me? Any other John Trudel book would do nicely, thank you very much.
A page turner with opposing forces wanting the latest technology and yet with a gentle romance behind the main action. However, what became of the General?
I really hate books like this. Fiction that could be reality at any moment of any day and then I have to stay up all night to finish it to see what happens! I hope it works out this well in real life. A very worthy read.
You want a book you can't put down? Trudel strikes again with his best yet. This book just races along from beginning to end, full of opinion, common sense and facts not out there in the shallow coverage of today's news. It's a warning that's scary and at the same time comforting that at least someone is thinking about what might happen. The characters jump off the page and stay with you through the whole book. This book is a page turner and a thoughtful piece all at the same time. If you like to have to think about some of our silly laws that the pc police have passed and why it leaves us more open to mischief just strap and and get ready to not put this one down until the last page.
The only thing is that CyberTech is the name of a company! It is not really a "cyber tech" thriller. But the novel in itself was fine.
Trudel has hit the center ring with this book. DEAD ON! I'm going to make sure I can get my hands on his other books. This is definitely 21st century ideas, plots, and solutions. This is one you'll have to fight yourself to put it down before you reach the end. Thanks for a great experience and the knowledge that came from it. Don't pass this one up.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was one that you could read, put down and then pick up and be right back into the story.
